Interior Design · New York City & the East End of Long Island

Feeling first.
Then the floor plan.

Interiors for new construction, whole-house renovation and makeovers — from land purchase through the last light fixture.

The premise

I design for form, functionality and feeling. The last is the hardest to draw.

A house is where a family's life happens, so the brief that matters is usually the one a client hasn't said out loud yet. I listen for that first, then design around it — the rooms you actually live in, the light, the materials you touch every day, and the small things that make a house feel like it was always yours.

01

New Construction

Involved from land purchase through conceptual design to final presentation, alongside the architect and the build team rather than after them.

02

Renovation & Restoration

Older houses brought forward properly — landmarked integrity kept intact, with modern light, clean living and contemporary interiors laid over it.

03

Makeovers

A single room or a whole floor, reworked with what the house already gives you: furniture, finish, colour and the small conveniences that change a day.

Who you'd be working with

Michelle Breskin, Creative Director

I co-founded Breskin Development in 2009 and have been its Creative Director since, designing the interiors of luxury residences in New York City and across Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sagaponack and Sag Harbor.

I take as readily from art, fashion and technology as from architecture. I came to design from financial services and a beauty business I founded, and hold an MBA in marketing.
